Erosion Database for Large-Diameter Elbows
Large-diameter pipes and elbows are vastly used in industry, especially in oil and gas production. Solid particle erosion is a common issue in these pipelines and it is important to predict it to avoid failure. The laboratory experiments are limited to diameters less than 4 inches, for now. Therefore, there is not much experimental data available for large-diameter elbows. However, erosion can be predicted by running simulations and applying erosion equations in such elbows. The goal of this project is to create an erosion database for large-diameter elbows under different conditions and use this database to calculate erosion in a required case.
