Development of Erosion Simulation Guidelines

Many inputs are required to run an erosion simulation. Large differences can exist even if one input has been changed. This phenomenon challenges the confidence of a CFD-based erosion simulation. In order to gain successful erosion prediction and the right insight of erosion through CFD, a comprehensive guideline has been developed. The guidelines have pointed out limitations like point-based particle assumption and limiting eddy size to cell size in the commercial CFD codes and presented solutions to overcome or utilize the limitations to obtain good erosion predictions for different geometries, flow and particle conditions.
