3-inch Liquid-Dominated Flow Loop

The 3-inch Liquid-Dominated Flows Experimental Facility (Figure 3) is also a multipurpose experimental facility, where different configurations of elbows in series can be applied as well as different geometries. The loop can handle liquid velocities up to 5.5 m/s (when working with the liquid-sand flow), solids concentration up to 5 vol\%, and gas velocities up to 11 m/s in multiphase flows. The facility was designed in such a way that it can accommodate both horizontal and vertical flows. The straight 3-inch pipe section is approximately 6 meters long.
